Hackensack, NJ(September 22, 2021) — Diamond Braces, a leading NYC orthodontist with locations throughout New Jersey and New York, is partnering with Invisalign and the New York Giants to deliver free Invisalign clear aligner treatment to children impacted by tragedy. Through a new initiative with Tuesday’s Children , a nonprofit serving families affected by terrorism, military conflict, and mass violence , Diamond Braces will provide 10 complete Invisalign treatment plans to young people in need.

A New Way to Tackle Dental Care

Orthodontic care and community healing don’t often appear in the same headline. But in this latest partnership between Diamond Braces, Invisalign, Tuesday’s Children, and the New York Giants, that’s exactly what’s happening — and it couldn’t come at a better time.  Together, the group is offering fully sponsored Invisalign treatment to children affected by terrorism, mass violence, or military conflict. It’s an initiative built not on press releases, but on clinical expertise, trauma-informed care, and a belief that the right smile at the right moment can change a life.

And while orthodontists near me and dental offices near me in NYC neighborhoods like UES New York NY, Cobble Hill Brooklyn, and Upper West Side New York New York serve thousands of patients annually, far too many children impacted by tragedy remain left out of the dental care system.  This partnership is helping change that — not with a one-off donation, but with comprehensive, end-to-end orthodontic care delivered by some of the most experienced teams in the country.

NYC’s Long History of Pediatric Dentistry

New York’s roots in pediatric dental care run deep. More than a century ago, public clinics in neighborhoods like the Lower East Side and Harlem pioneered free school dental programs for immigrant children — a model that inspired similar efforts nationwide.

Yet in 2024, even in boroughs home to some of the best dentists in NYC gaps persist:

  • 29% of NYC children still face untreated dental decay (NYC DOH 2023)

  • Fewer than half of Medicaid-eligible children under 12 see an orthodontist when recommended

  • Pediatric dentists and orthodontists cite cost, transportation, and trauma-related barriers as key access issues.

Pediatric Oral Health Access in NYC

The barriers aren’t just financial. Trauma-affected families often report feeling intimidated by healthcare systems — or simply not knowing where to turn.  Across New York City, pediatric dental access is a tale of two cities:

  • In zip codes served by practices like Upper East Smiles New York NY, 3 out of 4 children receive annual preventive dental care.

  • In underserved Bronx and Queens neighborhoods, fewer than 1 in 3 do.

It’s here that dental hygienists, dental assistants, and orthodontists in trusted practices can serve as critical bridges. When paired with nonprofit partners like Tuesday’s Children, the model becomes even more powerful — ensuring children not only receive expert Invisalign treatment, but also holistic, supportive care throughout the process.

Invisalign — A Mission Beyond Straight Teeth

Invisalign has transformed orthodontics worldwide — and now they’re using that innovation to transform access.

Their SmartTrack™ aligner material and digital treatment pathways have helped over 15 million patients globally. But beyond the clinical tools, Invisalign is increasingly investing in community-based care initiatives.

In this program, Invisalign is contributing all aligner production and materials free of charge for selected Tuesday’s Children families. Their team is also providing training to ensure Diamond Braces orthodontists can deliver care in ways sensitive to the needs of children impacted by trauma.

The goal: give these kids not just straighter teeth, but new confidence — without adding new financial or emotional burdens to families already navigating loss.

The New York Giants — More Than a Game

Professional athletes understand resilience. That’s why the New York Giants quickly signed on to this partnership, bringing both visibility and resources to the table.  The team will support the program through:

  • Funding to help cover clinical and ancillary costs

  • Community outreach events connecting children with Giants players

  • Promotion through Giants’ media channels to raise awareness citywide

Their involvement isn’t token. The Giants have a longstanding track record of backing mental health and trauma-recovery programs — and this partnership gives them a tangible way to expand that impact through dental care.  “When a child can smile again without shame or fear, you see them begin to heal,” says a Giants community affairs spokesperson. “That’s the kind of victory we want to support.”

Tuesday’s Children — Bringing Trauma-Informed Support

Tuesday’s Children knows what trauma leaves behind. Since 9/11, they’ve served over 30,000 individuals worldwide — providing long-term mental health and community support to families affected by terrorism and violence.  In this initiative, Tuesday’s Children plays a critical role.

  • Identifying eligible families through its extensive support networks

  • Providing trauma-informed training for clinical partners

  • Offering ongoing case management during treatment

Their involvement ensures that Invisalign treatment doesn’t happen in isolation — but rather as part of a larger healing process.

As Executive Director Terry Sears puts it: “For children navigating both trauma and adolescence, dental care is about more than aesthetics. It’s about rebuilding trust in themselves and their community.”

Diamond Braces — A Leader in Orthodontics

With practices from Cobble Hill Brooklyn to UES New York NY and New York City Wall Street, Diamond Braces is one of the Northeast’s largest Invisalign Diamond Plus Providers — and a pioneer in community-centered orthodontic care.  The dental brand provided:

  • Full clinical treatment via its orthodontists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants

  • Treatment tailored to trauma-affected pediatric populations

  • Integration with Tuesday’s Children support services

For Diamond Braces Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Oleg Drut, this is simply an extension of the company’s mission:

“We believe orthodontic care should be affordable, accessible, and amazing — for everyone. When that care can also be part of a child’s healing journey, it’s an honor to provide it.”

Why Every Child Deserves to Smile

Studies show that children with untreated dental issues are three times more likely to be bullied about their appearance. Restoring a child’s confidence to smile — in school photos, on the playground, in daily life — is more than just aesthetics.

It’s an opportunity to give them a chance to feel included, and proud of who they are. And when community partners step in to make that possible, they’re not just changing smiles — they’re changing futures.

Bridging Sports, Dental Care, Trauma and Community

At its core, this partnership shows what’s possible when orthodontic services, sports leadership, and trauma-recovery organizations join forces.

  • Bridging trust gaps in NYC’s healthcare system

  • Offering real pathways to health and confidence for trauma-affected children

  • Mobilizing community partners — from dental offices near me to Delta Dental NYC providers — to support broader public health goals.

Every Smile Tells a Story

When Diamond Braces, Invisalign, Tuesday’s Children, and the New York Giants bring a child into this program, they’re doing more than closing gaps in dental care. They’re giving a child back something far more valuable: the ability to smile without fear. And in a city that knows both loss and resilience all too well, that’s a kind of healing every New Yorker can understand — and every child deserves.
