Are you passionate about dental care and looking to make a positive impact? Diamond Braces is seeking a dedicated Foreign Dentist Dental Assistant to join our team. As a vital member of our clinical team, Foreign Doctor Dental Assistants perform limited clinical duties under the direction of a dentist, making a positive impact on our patients’ oral health. This role enables our team members to continue working in their field of interest while pursuing their continuing education in the U.S.

Clinical duties may include equipment preparation and sterilization, preparing patients for treatment, assisting the dentist during treatment, and providing patients with instructions for oral healthcare procedures. You will contribute directly to the seamless operations of our dental practice and ensure a high-level of patient care and customer service at all times.

This position is Full-Time and may require evening and weekend shifts. This position requires an individual to be available for an on-call schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clinical teams, office admin/management, and treatment coordinators to drive patient care and a high level of customer service at all time
  • Perform sterilization and disinfection procedures in accordance with established guidelines
  • Prepare dental equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established regulations and guidelines
  • Document and ensure timely delivery of lab cases with attention to detail
  • Performs basic dental lab duties including the fabrication of Essix retainers
  • Assists with the preparation of patient care areas including patient seating and dismissal
  • Capture diagnostic records including scans and photos as prescribed by a licensed dentist
  • Assists Clinical Assistants
  • Complete assigned educational courses in a timely manner to remain current and compliant

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • BDS/DMD/DDS or equivalent from a foreign university
  • Minimum B2 Level English – written and spoken
  • Certificate from an accredited dental assistant program – preferred
  • CPR License - preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of dental procedures, terminology and techniques
  • Accreditation from international dental program
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to sit for extended period while working on a computer

*Please note, in NYS you must be willing to enroll in a Registered Dental Assisting course within 9 months of your start date to maintain your pay rate. Diamond Braces will loan you any costs associated with this program, but you will be responsible for repayment of these costs.
